Revolution of the Nomad

let your hearts be
humbled;
let your ego
be crumbled.

the dark mountains
lofty and high;
the wind that howls
lets out a sigh;

from the minaret
the call to prayer
you hear;
your soul has nothing but
He to fear;

the mingling
of the sounds of mere
dunya;

mighty are still
the fallen ways
in which dwellers
lay in
their caves
meditating;

of travels like
ibn battutah;
of whirling
dervishes
like rumi;
of writings
like al haddad;
of spirit
like
al ghazali;
of words
like ali ibn talib;

most of all;
of mercy
like
the beloved
of Allah
(sallahu alayhi wasalaam)
